DIY Wedding Project: Flower Girl Carry-Ons

I have four flower girls and one ring bearer. Three of the five are but one year old. Because of this I have been struggling with what would be realistic for them to carry down the aisle. Heck, I’m just hoping they can walk down the aisle! So I’m certainly not adding an extra jobs to their role. So what to do? What to do?  As a wedding gift, I decided to get each of my little kiddos a stuffed chicken. I love chickens and as a result they do, too! My flower girls are all wearing flower crowns (like the bride), so once I purchased my toy chicken, I…

    Mid-Century Wedding Shower

My friends and my family are pretty awesome. And that’s just about all there is to say. I mentioned that I wanted a 1950’s inspired shower and they totally went above, beyond and in everyway exceeded my vision. It was a perfect day. I’ve never felt so loved and cared for before. DIY Wedding Planning and Organization

I think it’s a challenge to talk about wedding planning and organization because well… I haven’t actually pulled this wedding off yet. But as most things go with my personality, I’m just going to do it anyway. I should start off by saying that I love planning our wedding. Mostly because I love organizing things. I knew early on in this process that I wanted to do a lot of DIY projects. It was…

    Douglas Valley Wedding Venue

The day after Sean proposed, I went a little crazy. I started drawing pictures and printing images I’d long ago saved on my computer. Some people dream about their weddings for a long time and know just what they want once they are engaged. I am one of those people. The moment I started compiling these images was when I realized: holy crap! This is my wedding, not someone elses. And after always being the bridesmaid many times, I was ready to start feeling like a bride. So I drew a simple picture of what I wanted our ceremony to look like. And I have been carrying it in my…

    Pickerel Lake Engagement Story

To us, Pickerel Lake has always been perfect. Last summer, before Sean went traveling through India and Nepal, we dedicated an entire day to each other, which meant first we ate too much lemon pie and then we hiked around Pickerel Lake. It was on a bench half way around the lake, with a handkerchief on my head and tears in my eyes that Sean and I both realized, we absolutely, positively could not live without one another. Last week, Sean was adamant that we go hiking on Friday after he was done with work. I wanted to have cocktails with the girls, but he really wanted to go hiking,…
