Good Things

10 Good Things Friday

“Yeah, well, I’ve got a dream, too, but it’s about singing and dancing and making people happy. That’s the kind of dream that gets better the more people you share it with.”

-Kermit the Frog

1. Do you have a friend you talk to every morning? Or is that just me? Anyway, ever since we’ve moved I’ve really been missing my friend… but!! I’m so looking forward to seeing Cher with her and my other two other besties in May. Without wishing time away, it’s safe to say that I am counting down the days!

2. I’m also preparing for my trip to Austin in a few weeks! Where should we go? Let me know in the comments, please.

3. Sean and I watched the documentary Quincy on Netflix and we can’t stop raving about it! Seriously, we have been telling everyone we know about it! It’s a must watch, for sure. It was just a perfect reminder me of the power that one person can have in this world.

4. We’re trying to be mindful about the extra space in our new home. For us, this means creating an environment we can bring people in to, to comfort, to grow. It also means I have a new, purposeful space to decorate. Begin interior design quest now. What ideas do you have for furnishing small spaces? I kind of love Ikea’s simple bed frames, like this one.

5. It snowed in Traverse this week (EEK!), which meant one thing: it was time for me to buy new boots. It’s been years since I’ve had a new, “good” pair of boots and now that we’re in the North, I thought that I definitely needed to invest in a solid pair. I bought these. I’m already loving them. Bring on the winter.

6. With June at my inlaws for the weekend, Sean and I took the opportunity to catch up on a long overdue date night. We had the more delicious, spicy drinks at Mammoth. I can’t wait to go back again.

7. Earlier this season, I picked up this staple piece for my fall + winter capsule wardrobe. It may be one of my favorite clothing items, ever!

8. Speaking of date nights, Sean and I had an amazing day-date at Beards Brewery in Petoskey. Hands down, the BEST Pho I’ve ever had in my life!

9. We checked out the book, Mix It Up, from the library a few weeks ago and June always wants to read. She’s hyper-engaged when we read it to her. It’s absolutely perfect for busy little ones!

10. Next up on our Family Fall Bucket List is a sledding trip to the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. It will be the perfect adventure for a sunny, autumn afternoon.

Bring on the weekend! What are you up to this coming week?
